Our Story
Jeong Community came into existence to support independent Korean Artists, and to create a platform for Korean Artists to showcase their work in Australia.
Founded by ceramic artist Cassandra of Chung Ha Studios, and inspired by the Korean sentiment of 'Jeong', it was her hope that she could create a space in Australia, where people could connect, develop a deeper understanding of craft and create meaningful connections.
When I embarked on my ceramics journey, I didn't expect it to become such an incredibly beautiful and powerful pilgrimage. Through my connection to ceramics and Korean craft, people and experiences that I could never have predicted began to enter my life. It offered up to me so many blessings, opportunities and connections with people that would otherwise have never been possible.
That is why Jeong Community is not simply about a space, it is about what happens between space. It is what plays out in between two distant places, between people, between your own two hands. And it is my hope that Jeong Community extends the sentiment of Jeong to anyone who passes through, however briefly.
