Small Sculpture 3 week course

Service Description
Discover the beauty of Korean porcelain and develop intricate and thoughtful small sculptures. This beginner friendly class is perfect for those who enjoy or wish to learn how to create work with fine detail. Working with Korean porcelain - a firm but incredible smooth clay, you can create beautiful shapes that feel completely unique and full of feeling. The first two weeks focus on subtractive sculpture - a process of carefully revealing the form and shape of the work through carving and cutting away material from a solid block of clay, slowly revealing the three-dimensional form. The third week, we will create delicate flower shapes by hand forming a stem and individual petals. Optional: you may purchase an additional 'lidded jar' as an add-on. Your sculpture can be attached to the lid during glaze firing. This jar is handmade by Chung Ha Studios (instructor) and Jeong Director on site, and is a beautiful way to showcase your creation. Included: Hands on instruction Korean Porcelain All Tools provided Firing service (clear glaze) Light refreshments
