Her teachings have had a major impact on my learning and development, as well as my appreciation of pottery. As a teacher, one thing that stands out most about Cassandra, is her focus on exploring and articulating the ""why"". She has consistently focused on building my understanding and awareness of how and why different actions lead to different outcomes, so that I'm able to build up my own framework of what works for me, rather than simply instructing me to do things in a certain way. I can see that this is only possible because of the depth of her own experience and expertise, and the attentiveness and care she offers to her students." "I approached Korean ceramics after a long journey through Australian ceramics studios - none of which felt connected to my purpose. Cass helped me identify what was important about the craft - bringing philosophical practice into the studio to teach me the concepts of letting go, refining craft, ensuring that intention is central to creation, and focusing on basics. I’ve tried ceramics at numerous pottery studios in Sydney but it is only through Cass’ instruction that I have progressed and connected to the medium." "Cass has been an incredible teacher to learn from. She is patient, kind, a creative problem-solver and generous with her time and skills in supporting beginners (aka me!). She has inspired me to pursue my own artistic practice in more depth as well as what it means to weave your own unique history into your work. I can’t recommend Cass enough!!!"
