Course Description

Enjoy the meditation of stitching and slowly build your confidence and create your own jogakbo artwork. Please note: This course is beginner friendly, however basic sewing skills (eg. threading and knotting needles) is required. Jogakbo is a form of Korean patchwork. Traditionally made by women, this incredible method of hand stitching originated by sewing scrap fabric together to create intricate and beautiful designs. It is a symbol of resilience and resourcefulness and a very special part of Korean craft heritage. Each week you will gradually be introduced to traditional techniques, finding familiarity and comfort in your skills and building 1-2 unique projects over the 4 week term. Included: Expert hands on instruction Korean textile fabric Silk thread Cutting mats and general tools provided

Courses and workshops: long term courses require a minimum of 4 students for the booking to go ahead. If the class is unable to go ahead, you will receive a full refund and notice of cancellation within 3 days of the event taking place. Cancellation: if you can no longer attend your course, you can reschedule your class online via https://www.jeongcommunity.com/my-bookings without penalty. Otherwise contact us for a full refund or credit if the cancellation occurs prior to 72 hours notice of your class. If cancellation occurs within 72 hours of the course taking place, you will receive a 50% refund. Cancellations within 24 hours (including missed classes) are non-refundable, however places are transferable to another person and you may receive a credit. Private (one-on-one) classes: if you can no longer attend your class, you can reschedule your class online via https://www.jeongcommunity.com/my-bookings without penalty within 72 hours. Cancellation: cancellation is permitted prior to 48 hours notice with a 50% refund. Cancellations within 24 hours (including missed classes) are non-refundable without credit. Firing service: whilst utmost care will be taken with your pieces, accidents (rarely) do happen. Unfortunately we cannot guarantee that every piece will be fired without injury or faults such as minor cracks or glaze defects - such is the nature of working with clay. Therefore, Chung Ha Studios cannot accept liability for natural faults that occur during glaze firing.
